There are many forms of hernias seen in our patients, some of which are more common than others. Not all hernias require surgery and some are very mild. The more common hernias that we perform surgery on in our practice are perineal hernias. We can see herniation of abdominal organs such as the bladder and intestines into the perineal hernia. Additionally, we see traumatic body wall herniations and less commonly diaphragmatic or peritoneal-pericardial diaphragmatic hernias.
